SCI Research Advancement is a foundation consisting of paraplegics, quadriplegics, family, and friends that have come together to fund a research team to bring spinal cord regeneration to humans as quickly as possible.
Of the approximate $20 billion dollars spent annually on SCI care, (such as wheelchairs, medical supplies, and 24-hour care for some) less than $100 million dollars or 1% of this money goes to "cure" research.
The vast majority of this money supports research that has no mandate, incentive or guidelines to actually help paraplegics and quadriplegics regain substantial function.
